The ceremony is performed to seek divine blessings so that the child’s name brings positivity, good fortune, and a meaningful beginning in life. Many families choose to perform this ritual under the guidance of an experienced priest, often searching for a trusted naamkaran pandit near me to ensure the ceremony is conducted according to traditional and scriptural practices.

Naamkaran is the ritual of naming the child. As per tradition, four names are associated with the child:

• Kula Devata Name – connected to the family deity

• Masa (Month) Name – based on the lunar month of birth

• Nakshatra Name – derived from the birth star

• Vyavaharik Name – the practical name used in daily life

When Should Naamkaran Sanskar Be Performed?

Naamkaran Sanskar is generally performed:

• On the 12th day after the birth of a boy
• On the 13th day after the birth of a girl
• Sometimes on a day chosen according to the birth Nakshatra

According to the Hindu Panchang, the ritual should be performed after selecting a Shubh Tithi, day, and Nakshatra.
Naamkaran Sanskar should be conducted only after the health of both the mother and the baby has stabilized.

सिझेरियन नंतर कधी नामकरण संस्कार करावा?

In cases of cesarean delivery, Naamkaran Sanskar is performed after the complete recovery of the mother and stabilization of the baby’s health. How Is Naamkaran Sanskar Performed?

• The ritual begins with Ganesh Puja and Sankalp.
  • Vasordhara, Shodasha Matruka Puja, and Kuldevata Puja are performed to seek divine and ancestral blessings.
  • Nandi Shraddha is performed in remembrance of departed ancestors, seeking their blessings for the child.
