भूमिपूजन पुजा ही नवीन घर, इमारत किंवा कोणत्याही बांधकामाच्या सुरुवातीपूर्वी केली जाणारी एक महत्त्वपूर्ण हिंदू धार्मिक विधी आहे.

हिंदू धर्मात भूमीला देवी म्हणून पूजले जाते आणि ती जीवनाचा आधारस्तंभ मानली जाते. या विधीमध्ये भगवान वास्तुपुरुष, देवी भूमी, पंचभूत आणि दिशात्मक देवांची पुजा केली जाते. या पूजेच्या माध्यमातून भूमी देवीची क्षमा मागून तिचे व तिला तोलून धरणा-या अनंत कूर्म यांचे आशिर्वाद घेऊन काम सुरु केल्याने बांधकाम निर्विघ्नपणे पार पडते अशी भावना व्यक्त होते.

भूमिपूजनासाठी शुभ मुहूर्त कसा निवडायचा?

हिंदू पंचांगानुसार शुभ तिथी आणि मुहूर्त पाहून भूमिपूजन करावे.

वैशाख, श्रावण, मार्गशीर्ष आणि माघ हे महिने शुभ मानले जातात. रोहिणी, उत्तराषाढा, उत्तराभाद्रपद, मृगशिरा आणि रेवती नक्षत्रे असताना पुजा करणे उत्तम मानले जाते. मंगळवार आणि शनिवार टाळून सोमवार, गुरुवार किंवा शुक्रवार हे दिवस भूमिपूजनासाठी योग्य समजले जातात.

भूमिपूजन कसे करतात?

भूमिपूजन हा विधी बांधकाम साइटच्या उत्तर-पूर्व कोपऱ्यावर केला जातो. सर्वप्रथम भूमीची स्वच्छता करून जागा शुद्ध केली जाते.

या विधीमध्ये भगवान वास्तुपुरुष, देवी भूमी, पंचभूत आणि दिशात्मक देवांची पुजा केली जाते. गणपती पूजन, वरुण पूजन व पृथ्वी - कूर्म - अनंत ह्या देवतांची पुजा करून कलश स्थापना केली जाते. पहिला खोदकाम (पहिला घाव) गृहस्वामीच्या हस्ते करून भूमीशी संकल्प केला जातो.

वैशाख, श्रावण, मार्गशीर्ष और माघ के महीने शुभ माने जाते हैं। रोहिणी, उत्तराषाढ़ा, उत्तराभाद्रपद, मृगशिरा और रेवती नक्षत्र के दौरान यह पुजा करना उत्तम माना जाता है। मंगलवार और शनिवार को छोड़कर सोमवार, गुरुवार या शुक्रवार को भूमिपूजन करना शुभ होता है।

भूमिपूजन विधि निर्माण स्थल के उत्तर-पूर्वी कोने में की जाती है। सबसे पहले भूमि की सफाई और शुद्धिकरण किया जाता है।

भगवान वास्तुपुरुष, देवी भूमिदेवी, पंचभूत और दिशाओं के देवताओं की पुजा की जाती है। गणपति पूजन, वरुण पूजन तथा पृथ्वी-कूर्म-अनंत देवताओं की पुजा करके कलश स्थापना की जाती है। पहला खुदाई कार्य (पहली खोदाई) गृहस्वामी द्वारा करके भूमिदेवी से आशीर्वाद लिया जाता है।

Through this puja, forgiveness is sought from Goddess Bhoomi, she is honored, and with the blessings of Anant Kurma (the divine force that holds the earth), the construction work begins smoothly without obstacles.

How to Choose an Auspicious Time for Bhoomi Pujan?

According to the Hindu Panchang (astrological calendar), Bhoomi Pujan should be performed on an auspicious date and time (muhurat).

The months of Vaishakh, Shravan, Margashirsha, and Magh are considered favorable. It is best to perform this puja during the Rohini, Uttarashada, Uttarabhadrapada, Mrigashira, and Revati nakshatras. Tuesday and Saturday should be avoided, while Monday, Thursday, or Friday are considered auspicious days for Bhoomi Pujan.

How is Bhoomi Pujan Performed?

The ritual is performed in the northeast corner of the construction site. First, the land is cleansed and purified.

Worship is offered to Lord Vastu Purush, Goddess Bhoomi, the Panchabhuta, and the deities of the directions. Ganpati Puja, Varun Puja, and the worship of Prithvi-Kurma-Anant deities are performed, followed by Kalash Sthapana (establishment of the sacred pot). The first excavation (digging) is done by the head of the family, seeking the blessings of Goddess Bhoomi.
